Academic and author Prof. John Campbell, who has extensive knowledge on the casting industry, came together with the employees of Maxion İnci Aluminum for a special workshop. Also attended by high level executives in charge of Global Maxion Wheels and Turkey Operations, the workshop served as a platform for exchange of information on new metal trends and emerging technologies.
Encouraging employees to improve their professional and social competencies, Maxion İnci Wheel Group hosted John Campbell, world-renowned academic and author who is the honorary professor at the Department of Casting Technologies and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, the University of Birmingham. Employees had the opportunity to turn theory into practice through various exercises during the workshop, which was held to boost efficiency of processes from aluminum entries in the shop floor to the final process at the foundry.
Having spent a significant part of his carrier in the casting industry and written books taught at relevant departments of universities, Campbell touched upon aluminum melting & casting metallurgy, metal cleanliness & quality and measurement methods during the workshop that took place at Maxion İnci Aluminum plant. Employees had the chance to gain new insights into innovative metallurgical approaches while learning on emerging casting technologies and trends.
Mustafa Zaim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maxion İnci and Maxion Jantaş, underscored the importance they place on employee development and said: “It was a great pleasure for us to host Prof. John Campbell, the doyen of metallurgy who shares his extensive knowledge on various platforms from universities to the private sector and enjoys great recognition both from university students and corporations with his books. Remarking that aluminum alloys have a bright future, Campbell continued as follows: “I think that aluminum will remain the best option in the future and maintain this trend for the upcoming 20 to 50 years. Aluminum production will continue to be important as long as we have automobiles and mobility in our lives.”
