Maxion İnci Wheel Group is the first company to launch IMPACT2030's Employees for the Global Goals program in Turkey.
As a company which puts sustainability at the center of its activities, Maxion İnci Wheel Group, one of the pioneers of the Turkish automotive supply industry, has launched IMPACT2030's Employees for the Global Goals program in Turkey, a program developed in collaboration with the World's Largest Lesson. The Employees for the Global Goals program was designed to help companies engage their employees in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and inspire change.
Mustafa Zaim, the President of Maxion Jantaş and Maxion İnci, made the following statement about the program: "Sustainability is one of the cornerstones of our corporate culture. In order to do our part in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, we are working intensively towards reducing our carbon footprint and implementing many projects aimed at saving water. Currently, we are trying to spread awareness through the selfless activities of our volunteers. We know that the Sustainable Development Goals which focus on solving social, cultural, and ecological challenges and consist of 17 main goals are of utmost importance for our world. With this aim in mind, we are doing our utmost best to do our part."
Arzu Pınar Demirel, IMPACT2030 Turkey Impact Council President says: "Companies can change the world if they mobilize the skills, experience and creativity of their employees for the greater good. By sparing just one hour of their time, the volunteers who participate in the Employees for the Global Goals program will teach youngsters about the SDGs and inspire them to believe they can impact the future and be part of the solution. I believe that heightened awareness and the development of a sense of responsibility towards the environment will spread very fast among people. I congratulate Maxion İnci Wheel Group’s volunteers and wish it to set an example for other corporations."
The 17 goals of the United Nations which were set in 2015 intend to end extreme poverty, to fight inequality and injustice, and to improve climate change by 2030. The program developed in collaboration by IMPACT2030, a global network in Employee Volunteering, and the World's Largest Lesson aims to introduce and to teach these 17 goals to the new generation and mobilize youngsters for the realization of SDGs. Guides aimed at facilitating learning and teaching about SDGs are shared on etkikonseyi.com.
According to the plan, the first stage will consist of volunteers teaching the SDGs to their colleagues in the office and field. The scope of the project will then be expanded to include the children of employees, their families and wider audiences with the support of various NGOs.
